I’ve developed AI-powered solutions tailored to solve critical challenges in media organizations:

• Custom GPT Chatbot for Alt Text: This tool generates detailed alt text for illustrations and data visualizations in stories, significantly improving accessibility and inclusivity for audiences.

• AI Chatbot for Support Teams: Trained on our subscription and tech knowledge base, this tool autonomously resolves subscriber issues using step-by-step guides and screen recordings, saving senior resources valuable time.

• Employee Onboarding Bot: An "Ask Me Anything" chatbot that automates product and tech onboarding for new employees, increasing productivity by 20%.

The support team chatbot and onboarding bot were built using a robust tech stack comprising a NodeJS app, LangChain, OpenAI, and Pinecone for a vector database. These tools utilize vectorized data storage and retrieval for precise query matching and offer seamless interaction through a React-based frontend.

Capacity Building

I have conducted training sessions to introduce AI tools and workflows in newsrooms. These sessions aimed to address biases against AI and improve productivity. They focused on reducing tedious tasks and allowing people to focus more on work they enjoy.

These efforts extended to external audiences through workshops at the Bound Publishing Course and the Times School of Journalism, encouraging broader adoption of AI across the media industry.

AI Fellowship

As part of the inaugural cohort of the AI Journalism Lab at CUNY’s Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, I collaborated with global leaders to explore the ethical applications of generative AI. This experience solidified my commitment to building AI solutions that enhance journalism’s trust and impact.
